Achieving your goals.

Sustaining high performance.

Executive coaching for senior leaders navigating challenge, change and the demands of leadership.

Coaching grounded in the realities of leadership

Senior leadership rarely comes with simple answers. There are competing priorities, different perspectives, organisational dynamics and decisions that have consequences for you and for others.

Coaching gives you the opportunity to work through those challenges with someone who is independent of the situation. I'll listen, ask questions, challenge your thinking and, when it's useful, bring a perspective informed by my own experience of leadership and organisational life.

The aim isn't simply to have an interesting conversation. It's to help you understand what's really happening, make better choices and do something differently as a result.

Think clearly

Cut through the noise, make sense of what’s happening and decide what deserves attention.

Challenge yourself

Question assumptions, recognise patterns and be prepared to look at the situation differently.

Take action

Turn thinking into decisions, conversations and actions that move things forward.

What could we work on?

Every coaching relationship is different. You may come with a clear goal, a particular challenge or simply a sense that something needs to change. These are some of the areas I commonly explore with senior leaders.

Increasing your impact

Understand how others experience your leadership, build on what already works and identify what may be getting in your way.

Performing under pressure

Stay effective when the stakes are high, demands compete and maintaining perspective becomes harder.

Stepping up

Navigate the transition into a bigger role, respond to increased expectations or prepare yourself for what comes next.

Leading through change

Make sense of uncertainty, make good decisions and help others move through change with you.

Working through complexity

Untangle difficult situations, competing priorities or relationships when there isn't an obvious right answer.

Understanding yourself

Develop greater insight into your strengths, motivations and patterns of behaviour — including the things that can become less helpful under pressure. Hogan personality assessment can be incorporated where it adds value.

Experience that goes beyond coaching

I'm Steve Neary, an executive coach with extensive experience working alongside senior leaders and organisations.

I've spent much of my career working alongside senior leaders — sometimes supporting them, sometimes challenging them and often helping them work through difficult issues. That experience matters in my coaching. I understand that leadership happens in real organisations, with competing priorities, different personalities, politics, pressure and imperfections.

I bring that perspective into my coaching without assuming I have the answer. My role is to help you think, challenge you when it's useful and bring my own experience or perspective when it helps move the conversation forward.

My style is straightforward, upbeat and challenging. I take the work seriously, but that doesn't mean every conversation has to feel serious.
